Time to Connect
Community Action Bedfordshire is working in partnership with Timebanking UK and the National Development Team for Inclusion (NDTi) to deliver a national demonstration project designed to address the social isolation faced by disabled and older people resident in care homes.
Community Action will be working with care home providers and people living in formal care settings in Leighton-Linslade to develop new community connections, driven by residents’ own wishes and interests. Care home residents will be able to lead more fulfilling lives by continuing to give their knowledge and skills back into the local community through the relationships they develop with local Timebank members.
Local care home providers will be able to learn and develop new techniques and improve practice to deliver inclusion and support their residents to lead more fulfilling lives.
Learning from the project will be shared nationally and is expected to widely influence policy and practice in formal care settings.
